Support LEO

Ways to support the work

LEO grew from local volunteers and local giving before it had any institutional funding. Every route below is open to individuals as well as organisations.

Give

Contributions of any size go into LEO's programmes: safe water, health, education, shelter, seasonal relief and livelihoods. To give, contact the office and LEO will provide its bank account details directly.

Why account details are not printed here. Charities that publish bank details on their websites are routinely impersonated: the details are copied onto fake pages and appeals. LEO gives its account details person to person, and asks every donor to confirm them by phone on one of the helplines below before sending money. Please treat any account details attributed to LEO that did not come through this route as suspect.

Zakat and seasonal giving

Several LEO programmes are designed for Zakat and seasonal giving: homes built for widows eligible for Zakat, the Zakat Employment Programme that sets up small businesses for deserving families, Ramadan food packages, Qurbani distribution, and winter kits for women and children. Tell LEO how you would like your gift used and it will be directed to that programme and reported back to you.

Fund a programme

Institutions, diaspora groups and family foundations can fund a defined piece of work: a set of hand pumps, a solar water system for one village, classrooms at a named school, or equipment for a hospital ward. Each is delivered with community oversight and documented in LEO's reports. See how partnership with LEO works, or start a conversation.

Give time or goods

LEO's earliest work was carried by volunteers and it still is. Skills that help most: teaching, health outreach, data collection, writing and translation, and photography. Goods for seasonal distributions (blankets, warm clothing, school supplies) are welcomed by arrangement with the Mardan office.

Where the money goes. LEO publishes what each programme delivered, with sources, on the Impact page, and its registration, governance and policies on the Governance page. Donors receive a written acknowledgement and a report on the programme they supported.
